The People I Want To Be Around

I want to be around the people who personify what it means to be JOY. To not only know all the violence, hate, and injustices in the world, but to know it cannot be overcome by a reflection of it. This joyous person will share what makes their heart sing and impart more happiness through it. They don't babble over what they don't like or what annoys them, because they're too busy being grateful for the things they do like & the people they do love.

I want to be around the people who wears their personality COLORFULLY. They are fully aware of their fun little quirks and wear it proudly on their sleeve. They live in a bold, unashamed kind of way. They don't have a reason to explain who they are, because they are who God made them to be. They own it. This person sees their own flawed qualities, and has the grace to know they are always becoming.

I want to be around the person who LOVES where they live. This reveals so much about their heart and what they value. The person who loves the small city they live in seems to make the most of their life! They're also generally happy people which is just great. They seem to understand that contentment truly begins at the heart. Things don't change just because you move to a bigger city or a place where you know nobody - it has to start where you are.

I want to be around the person isn't afraid to SMILE for no dang diggity reason. They smile because they know their blessings. They smile because it is a new day. They smile because laugh lines and wrinkles are a sign of a life well lived. These kind of people add so more joy to your life, and don't know just get it from anywhere. They get it from the One who is joy.

But most of all, I want to be that kind of person first.

If you want to get warm you must stand near the fire: if you want to be wet you must get into the water. If you want joy, power, peace, eternal life, you must get close to, or even into, the thing that has them.
